Plan a day out with grandparents or a neighborhood elder!
The young and the old have so much more in common than you think. More than the whole middle of us quite often. We middle people are so busy working and doing and multitasking and burn-out-ing ourselves to death that sometimes we just aren’t listening to the young and old around us.
Does your elder AND your young person wish someone would just hang out with them at the park? Yes they do! Does your elder AND your young person simply want someone to take them to the movies and buy them all the dang popcorn and candy we (or our bellies) can afford? Yes! So today, sit down with your child and plan a great day out for the grandparents or elders in your life.
This may be just a few hours together or a whole day! That totally depends on your young people and elders’ abilities and what strikes your fancy. And of course, we wouldn’t leave you all alone in this endeavor! We recommend letting your child guide the ideas to start. They might surprise you with something you never would have dreamed up. And just how special will Grandma and Grandpa find that to be!?
